Texas Siamese Rescue
Howdy from Texas Siamese Rescue at “Meezer Ranch!” North Texas Siamese Rescue Central Org. Inc., is our official name and our "doing business as" name is Siamese Rescue Alliance, an IRS Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have been in business since 1998 and are located just north of Dallas. We also have rescue affiliates in Houston and Abilene, as well as a network of carefully screened foster homes.
We take our mission here very seriously: to rescue, treat, rehab, house, care, place, transport and follow up with our Meezers and Meezer Mixes. We make a lifetime commitment to our cats when we bring them into our Rescue, and even when they are adopted into loving homes, we are available to them for the rest of their lives. We are assisted in our mission by caring local veterinarians and volunteers, and are supported entirely through grants, sponsorships, and the donations of “Meezer” lovers all over the U.S.—and the world!
Volunteers perform every task at Texas Siamese Rescue. Each day of the year, we are:
• Feeding, medicating, and cleaning up after all the Meezers/Mixes in our 3500-square-foot facility
• Administering vet-supervised prescription care to special needs cats
• Reviewing and approving adoption applications
• Applying for grants and sponsorships
• Promoting our Rescue in the community and beyond
• Shuttling cats to and from vet appointments
• Scheduling, training, and supervising volunteers
• Raising funds through special appeals
• Organizing fun events such as our Summer Festival
• Taking time to love, pet, play with, and socialize all of our cuddly residents to prepare them for their forever homes!
So you see, we are always very busy, and though the work is sometimes hard, it is never a burden, because we love those kitties, and we love to see them find their forever homes!
Would you like to help? We can always use:
• Volunteers! Warm bodies age 14 and up (younger children may help alongside a parent) for the basic everyday tasks of cat rescue maintenance, petting and socializing, and assisting with offsite adoption events. Also, transporters are needed occasionally to “Meezer Express” adoptees to their new homes.
• Stuff! Check our Wish List on the website (tx.siameserescue.org) periodically to see what items we need. Gift cards for Wal-Mart, Target, Petco, Petsmart, OfficeMax, etc. are always welcome.
• Adopters! Oh, yes, you can take home a Meezer/Mix for your very own! Visit our website and click on “Siamese Available” to see who’s looking for a home, then make an appointment to meet him/her “in purrson.” All the information is there to start the process of bringing a new furry family member into your life.
• Money! The daily expense of food, litter, utilities, and supplies is significant. Every dollar received is stretched efficiently by our volunteers, but we can always use another one, and another one after that. Visit the “Donations” page at tx.siameserescue.org for easy ways to keep our Meezers/Mixes purring in their comfortable beds with healthy bodies and full tummies while they await adoption. And, because we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your monetary donations are tax-deductible.
Are you ready? “Like” us on Facebook, and add our website to your favorite places to visit online! And, as we like to say in Texas, y’all come see us sometime!
